The dark turns light

The fog made clarity

The unknown became known

The misty sky above suggests fear

as I lie weary in my chair

The dust forming around my window

I can hear the children bustle in the snow

​

The excuses I make to myself are nothing short of lies

For here I am, lying here with nothing

Longing for the truth I do not know

I wait

​

Truth? I repeat

Truth be told I am melancholy

Endlessly melting into sorrow

I wallow for this winter to end

But pity not, for I see the sun in this long January

​

The sun calls for me to move

Move from this chair and follow in its light

Oh, winter sun you have saved me

For was it the sun or just mindful knowledge swooping in to rescue?

The sudden warmth of the sun glazes over your body like sinking into a warm bath

The light summer breeze kisses your face as you smile to the sun

Captivated you wrap your arms around yourself

Thanking your body for feeling this warm embrace

​

Smell the crisp air as the leaves fall around you

As you walk you feel the ground beneath you getting colder, but the moon is shining down on you with a cold fall kiss

Captivated you sit on the stone wall gazing up at the night sky thanking it for sharing its light down on you

As you walk through the backyard you can hear the sound of every footstep as the snow presses down beneath you

Swaddled in your warmest clothes you feel the chill of the air on your cheeks 

You smile

Captivated by the season you reflect on how the trees and flowers have passes but are gearing up for the rebirth in the spring

Captivated you take nothing for granted.

Live this moment.
